Designed to fit the Flattop like a glove, this mount is purpose built and will not be compatible with other revolvers like the traditional Blackhawk or Super Redhawk. By design our mount incorporates both the rear sight screw and rear sight cross pin. The only mount on the market that uses the rear sight cross pin for ultimate strength. Similar to magnum rifles with cross bolts through the stock, the recoil force transferred is shared among both points, ensuring a single screw is not responsible for solo duty. The cross pin also prevents any twisting or rotating of the mount, ensuring any bumps along the trail have no impact on changing your zero.
If you are inclined to drill and tap your gun for an additional screw but can’t bear the thought of ‘defacing’ your precious six gun, don’t worry, you’re not alone. That’s why we made provisions for a second screw tucked inside the rear sight pocket. While not required for full functionality, just a bonus for those who want to go the extra mile. Maintaining the original outward appearance of the gun is important to us, especially if you wanted to go back to open sights or preserve resale value.
**The cross pin location varies from gun to gun. As such the end user is responsible for drilling the mount to accept the cross pin. Please preview the instructions below for more info or seek the services of your gunsmith.**

- Utilizes the Docter/Noblex footprint
- Mount is threaded for #6-48 screws

Will not fit regular Blackhawks, Super Blackhawks, Redhawks, Super Redhawks, GP-100s or SP-101s.

*Due to the variances in Ruger’s manufacturing, there may be slight discrepancies from gun to gun, depending on if you have a Monday built gun or a Friday built gun, some fitting may be required.

Just installed on my Convertible Blackhawk (.45 Colt/.45 acp). Very easy install. Just follow the directions carefully & use a fresh 1/16 drill bit and remove/clean it frequently as you go along. The plate is a PERFECT fit. Don’t forget to either loc-tite or clear nail polish the screw after the pin is in. Btw, Dan mailed my order out the very next day after the evening I placed it.
